Straw Bale Cottage

Construction of the Straw Bale Cottage is scheduled to commence in April 2008 and completion is expected in time for Christmas 2008.

 

This two bedroom holiday cottage will accommodate 4 – 5 visitors. It will occupy its own private grounds on the opposite side of Village Farm to the smaller Straw Bale Cabin.

The Straw Bale Cottage will be a perfect escape to the countryside; peaceful, relaxing and environmentally friendly.

 

It will be the UK’s first 2 bedroom holiday cottage made from straw bales.

 

The Straw Bale Cottage will have a double bedroom and shower on the ground floor and a twin bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The spacious lounge will have a beautiful double height ceiling and will open out onto a south facing veranda. A log stove will provide warmth on cold winters nights.

 

Construction methods for the Cottage will be similar to those employed for the Cabin.
